The Best Mexican Food Near Glacier National Park

Tacos aren’t just for Tuesdays, they are good ANY DAY! Even though we are a long day’s travel away, this blog will give you the inside scoop on how to get your South of the border fix while you are here.

  1. Vaqueros – Columbia Falls
  2. Los Caporales and Casa Mexico – Kalispell
  3. Jalisco Cantina – Whitefish
  4. Oro Y Plata– Bigfork
  5. Serranos Mexican Restaurant – East Glacier Park
  6. Wandering Gringo Cafe – West Glacier
  7. Tower Grill and Coffee Shop – West Glacier Park

You will find a great burrito in every corner of the Flathead Valley, even some great options right here at our very own West Glacier restaurant.

1. Vaqueros – Columbia Falls

Open year-round and often later than most.

Great place to dine in for a bite, and a good option for larger parties, as they have a lot of seating. Their menu has something for everyone, and their service is always quick yet good. Family-friendly environment and always clean. They are located right off Nucleus Ave. in Columbia Falls, very centrally located. Make sure you save some room to enjoy some fried ice cream after your dinner, or walk down to Farm To Table Ice Cream and enjoy a scoop! Looking to put your feet up after your day’s adventure? Vaqueros is an awesome option to order to go!

2. Los Caporales and Casa Mexico – Kalispell

Both are open year-round and serving up great food later as well!

Staying down in Kalispell? There are a few Mexican restaurant options. Los Caporales or Casa Mexico. Both of these options are very similar to Vaqueros in Columbia Falls, just may be a little closer to your home away from home while you visit. You cannot go wrong with anything on their menus. The atmosphere and environment are all very family-friendly!

3. Jalisco Cantina – Whitefish

Open year-round. Reservations are needed.

Jalisco Cantina is serving up a variety of authentic dishes from scratch. Here you will get the full Mexican dining experience; with that being said, reservations are needed. Pair your dishes with a handcrafted beverage of your choice as well. You can’t go wrong here; you can even enjoy your meal from their outside seating area if you wish!

4. Oro Y Plata– Bigfork

Open year-round, but worth a call to confirm in the off-season.

Spending some time down in Bigfork or around Flathead Lake? Make sure you don’t siesta on Oro Y Plata. Their menu is a bit limited, but the quality and atmosphere are top-notch. This place is poppin’, especially in the Summer months, as is the rest of the valley, but worth it!

5. Serranos Mexican Restaurant – East Glacier Park

Open year-round, but off-season hours may differ.

Rest assured, no matter which entrance of Glacier you are near, you will not be left without the option for delicious grub! Serranos is located in East Glacier and is a MUST stop when you are exploring that side of the mountains. They are serving up a variety of plates, even some of them with their own MT flair. Don’t skip dessert with the Huckleberry Tres Leche Cake.

6. Wandering Gringo Cafe – West Glacier

Open Seasonally. May/June – mid-Sept.

Don’t have to wander too far off Hwy 2 to see the Wandering Gringo. Their orange trailer will catch your eye, and then don’t fret, they will fill your stomach! They offer a great variety of tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. Very customizable, as everything is made fresh, and they do NOT skimp on portions. You will definitely be full and probably be taking some to go. My personal favorite here is the carne asada burrito! They offer shaded outdoor seating, or take it and hit the road and get back to your Glacier bucket list! For the most up-to-date info, make sure you check out their Facebook page!

7. Tower Grill and Coffee Shop – West Glacier Park

Open seasonally from 8:30 am-6:30 pm.

We can’t forget our own West Glacier restaurant! Our menu has endless options to fuel your next adventure. Look no further for the ultimate MT dining experience pondside! Soak up that sunshine while you enjoy a hand-pattied burger, a delicious BLT, or come enjoy one of our FAMOUS Highline Burritos. Twist it up and add our chipotle sauce if you are still craving some Mexican spice. Our taco salad or the deluxe nachos are great as well, and don’t forget the guac! Our menu has something even for the pickiest eaters. Call ahead and grab it to go if you are in a crunch for time. Don’t forget to quench your thirst with a frozen HUCKLEBERRY lemonade! YUM! Taco ‘bout making me hungry! One thing to know is that around here, you won’t starve.
