Camping In or Around Glacier

Montana isn’t named “Big Sky Country” for nothing and what better way to experience that than to sleep under the stars. There is plenty of the Great Outdoors to enjoy while you are exploring Glacier. But just can’t pitch your tent anywhere. There are multiple campgrounds within Glacier you can book and enjoy but you gotta start early.

We recommend checking out recreation.gov to see all the camping opportunities both inside and outside of Glacier. Maybe even hike into and plan a night at Firefighter Lookout Cabin.  Hike your way in and around the Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park but make sure you plan plenty ahead! And if you snag camping spots within Glacier…they give you a Glacier Park Entry Ticket. That’s a win win!

West Glacier KOA is also a summer hot spot for tents, full or partial hookups or they even have a few cabins. It has tons of opportunities and is not like most campgrounds around.

West Glacier RV park is located about as close as you can be to Glacier without a park pass. Tons of spots in this RV park as well. Reserve your spots early as everything tends to fill up fast.

Confidence Boosting Activities

Activities to do With Kids While Camping

Whether you need your kiddos to burn off some energy from the long car rides, stretch their legs or even reward them after a long few days of hikes, a trip to Glacier Highline is a great incentive! They can test their limits or become MT ninjas up on our ropes courses. There are over 50+ obstacles to challenge yourselves on and zip lining in both our upper and lower ropes courses and our longest one being 250’ long! There is plenty of family fun to be had here at Glacier Highline.

Anyone under the age of 12 needs an adult to participate on the ropes with them, but its a great activity for family bonding and even a great spectating sport for those along for the trip but prefer to keep their feet on the ground. Your adventure pass includes up to 2 hours of fun in the trees…BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE!  You can test your spiderman skills and scale our rock wall or race through our 80’ inflatable ground obstacle course and finally end your fun by cooling off on our inflatable water slide over our swimming pond. After the ropes or the slide enjoy a bite poolside at our Tower Grill. Make memories that will last a lifetime here at Glacier Highline!
